Research Goals

  • Develop health services and clinical research partnerships that benefit the community and values community perspectives
  • Engage communities as empowered partners and participants in research
  • Promote criteria for conducting research that is inclusive of underserved and underrepresented populations, particularly women and minorities
  • Identify and advocate for the adoption of principles and policies to support the model of community based participatory research
  • Collaborate with academic researchers to facilitate engagement with community in clinical, translational research
  • Collaborate with community partners to educate community residents, primary care practitioners and patients about the full range and benefits of clinical, translational and comparative effectiveness research
  • Promote the education, training and professional development of a cadre of health disparities researchers that are representative of the racial and ethnic diversity of the affected populations
