Health Disparities and Health Equity

Over the past 3-5 years, CCHERS has taken a leadership role in the city and state in their focus on addressing racial and ethnic health disparities through community education, organization and mobilization; conducting clinical and health services research on disparities in the neighborhoods of Boston; and informing public policy through research, analysis and dissemination.

Founded and provided organizational and fiscal home for Critical MASS for Elimination of Health Disparities (Critical MASS), a statewide, multicultural, and multi-organizational coalition working on elimination of racial and ethnic disparities in health and health care by addressing the broad social, political and economic determinants of health status in communities across the Commonwealth.

Collaborated with Health Care for All on developing the Disparities Action Network (DAN) and serve as Co-Chair of the Statewide Steering Committee that worked on crafting of legislation, HB 2234, An Act to Eliminate Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities in the Commonwealth.
