Empowering our youth since 2006.
CCHERS proudly supports a youth-led initiative designed to foster health sciences skills development and civic engagement. Through this impactful program, 8 to 10 young people participate in each summer vacation and afterschool cohort annually, gaining invaluable experience and insight into public health and community service.
This initiative is bolstered by a long-standing partnership with the Office of Youth Employment & Opportunity and its SuccessLink youth jobs program, ensuring meaningful opportunities for participants to grow and contribute.
The program is guided by three key objectives:
- Exposing young people to the fields of public health and health careers, sparking interest and paving pathways for future success.
- Equipping participants with foundational research skills to understand and address health inequities while promoting evidence-based policy change.
- Engaging youth as proactive change agents in their communities, empowering them to make a difference through volunteerism, community organizing, and policy advocacy.
Through these efforts, CCHERS is cultivating a new generation of leaders, dedicated to improving community health and advancing equity in Boston and beyond.
