The current political climate and funding landscape is marked by shifting priorities that challenge public health initiatives. CCHERS needs your support to sustain its direct services for immigrant and marginalized populations, and to bolster community organizing aimed at advancing health equity.
Community Advocacy Program
For individuals and families experiencing intimate partner violence.
CCHERS created the Community Advocacy Program (CAP) in 1995 to address the need for domestic violence services in Dorchester and since then has expanded to other Boston neighborhoods where Family Advocates are located in community health centers.
Community Voices Program
Community Voices has been ongoing for the past 12 years in CCHERS with a mission to engage youth in research to address health disparities.
HEART
HEART, the Healthcare Employment Access Recruitment and Training, is a workforce development program targeting home health aide training and other career supports for HHA’s. Given the increasing aging population and the growing demand for personalized care, home health aide training programs have become essential. CCHERS has been addressing the critical shortage of qualified professionals in the home care sector since 2016.
Community Research
We are building on CCHERS history of community based participatory research and blazing a trail for community-led research. This effort embodies the principle of self-determination, empowering local members to identify their unique challenges and collaboratively develop solutions
